Mariam Bit Eisa is Education Centre is being donated by a family from Qatar For the purpose of establishing an organized and standardized model for training of medical and paramedical staff throughout the country, a CME centre was functioning since 2006. This centre aims at achieving one of the most important goals of JADC. It provides training and education in diabetes and diabetes related complications through courses, lectures, and seminars delivered by the most experienced personnel.
The centre has a lecture room with multimedia projection plus secretariat office equipped with all necessary electronic machines. A second floor is built as an accommodation rooms for Khartoum outsiders during extended courses and programs.
CME centre has been running one the biggest projects of the World Diabetes Foundation (WDF) run in sub-Saharan Africa in collaboration with JADC. The project titled “Prevention of Lower Extremity Amputation in Diabetic Foot Patients” aims at establishing 20 diabetes specialized centers in different Sudanese state with its equipments and trained medical and paramedical staff. The primary goal of the project is to decrease the rate of lower extremity amputation among diabetic patients in Sudan with a total cost of 394.390 € in the period from 2008 to 2012.
